the history of the party by Britt

Since 31 January 2000, in the second room a part filled by the Christian Union. The group is composed of the members of the old groups RPF (reformatory political Federation) and REFORMED POLITICAL LEAGUE (Gpv). Since the elections of 1989 the groups already held joint meetings.

2002-2010 the Christian Union did in 2002 for the first time take part in the elections. Despite that the party was hoping for profit, lost 1 seat. In 2003 the party lost another seat, but the VVD and the CDA wanted anyway along with the ChristianUnion and SGP forms a Cabinet. It did not go through and eventually was chosen for D66. After 2003 the Christian Union knew his views. During a discussion on the European Constitution was the party against and became very well known. The party was for integration and immigration, the country which regularly for disagreement with Minister Rita Verdonk. The party organized actions. Including through these actions the Christian Union won a lot of seats during the municipal elections of 2006.

The party also won in 2006 a lot of seats during the elections for the second Chamber. Together with the CDA and the PvdA formed the Christian Union Cabinet. This ran not quite fast and good. The Christian Union had a number of conflicts with other parties.

2010-present during the elections for the City Council, the provincial Council and the House of representatives the party lost seats. Both for Rutte Cabinet I as Rutte Cabinet II helped the Christian Union to plan. During the elections to the European Parliament, the Christian Union, together with the SGP and won two seats. In 2015 the party got a new leader, Gert-Jan Segers.

The Christian Union positions:

The Christian Union has 10 positions:

1st a society with a future for our children.

This means that they care deeply about the future of the children who come after us.

2nd human care of warm-blooded professionals.

All people deserve to get enough money, with e or protected and receive care.

3rd integration that newcomers help to our fellow citizens.

They want the difference of rights simply counted with what happened in the Netherlands.

4th a lead for the Netherlands towards a green economy.

Netherlands should take confidence in the transition to a clean world.

5th a society from contributing to the community.

The question being asked is: “What can I do for my country?” The Christian Union feels that you should ask “what can my country do for me?” From that starting point we consider the introduction of a social service for everyone 18 which is a very good idea.

6th work with a perspective employer and employee.

There is a kind of dream for the labor market, young people have a permanent job within no time. Unemployed older people back into work, young parents more freedom to handle their jobs and care for their families.

7th fair taxation and sustainable pensions.

Taxes are easier, fairer and greener.

8th a peaceful, secure, prosperous and united Europe.

We know Europe mostly as a peaceful, safe, prosperity and solidarity continent. Usually this is true and just when things go wrong wishes CU that it is about. 9th impetus for the region.

9th impetus for the region.

We would like to invest in the regions

10th peace and security in the world.

The situation on the world stage has not become more stable in recent years, conflicts and tensions elsewhere there are more than ever intertwined.

politics from the Netherlands by Ben Ooft

Our politics is a system that combines different groups in a room we call the second chamber. The different groups talk about the problems we have they make some people vote over the decision. All te groups have a representative. The Netherlands is a parliamentary democracy. This means that all the Dutch people vote every four years to choose who will represent them in parlement.  you have voting rights when you are 18 and have the Dutch nationality. The elections for the House of Representatives are the basis of democracy. there are 150 seats in the second chamber for all the politicians. Citizens themselves can influence local or national politics. For example by sending emails to MPs or councilors. They can also offer a petition or start a citizens’ initiative.Because it when creating a new law is not possible to ask the opinion of all Dutch, choose all Dutch people aged 18 and older a member of parliament. All elected representatives form the parliament. The States-General consists of the Senate and the House. They control the government and along with the Government’s new laws.
